10 creative ways to declutter your home

The idea of living in an uncluttered home sounds attractive to many people. Many people feel anxious when it comes to decluttering your home. The process of decluttering is not that painful if you have creative and less time consuming ways. Following is a list of 10 creative ways to declutter your home. Give away one item each day. Removing a single item a day can make tremendous changes to your home without going through any exertion.
Fill one trash bag. One of the easiest ways of decluttering your house is to fill up a bag with all the stuff that you think is of no use anymore. This technique requires a simple large trash bag and all unnecessary stuff that needs to be discarded.
Shabby Linens. It is not a secret that we all have towels and sheets that have seen better days. Many people make a mistake of keeping these items for longer times than they should be kept. A good rule of thumb is to store things that you need and discard the worn out linens to create space.
Re-arrange Your Space. Rearranging the placement of main items in your room helps you in addressing the junk you are holding in your house.
Make a list. This is an effective method. It helps you in listing down the areas or places of your house that needs to be decluttered. After shortlisting the places, you need to list down all the useful items that should be kept in the house and discard the rest.
Take the 12-12-12 Challenge. Listing down 12 items to donate, 12 items to discard and 12 items to be returned to their places is a useful method to clean your house. This way you are organizing 36 items of your house. You can even hold a competition with the members of the house to make it more fun.
Old Cosmetics and Beauty Products. Sometimes we forget that cosmetics and beauty products also have an expiration date. Sort out all the beauty products that have been in your shelf for more than 2 years and throw them.
Magazines. Storing large stacks of magazines on your side table or bookshelf is a huge mistake. People store them for future use but realistically they do not use it for any project. You can digitalize some articles and recycle the rest.
Extra Cords and Cables. Long after appliances have now been in the charity shop but the cables and the cores that came along are now resting in your drawer. It is true that you need a lot of courage to pull out the tangled cords to know which ones to keep. Recycle the extra cords or send them to the charity shop.
Outdated Documents. Go through your documents and discard the ones that you stored for no reason. Update your documents online. This helps you in saving a lot of space.
No matter which method you use from the list, the aim is to take the initial step with excitement behind it.
